Noise-cancelling earbuds are a small upgrade that makes a long travel day calmer. They fit in a pocket, soften engine drone and announcements, and are easier to rest your head on a pillow with than over-ear headphones. OPPO's new Enco X4 has a feature list built around commuting and travel. The details below come from OPPO's official launch announcement, and India Today reported that the earbuds have already launched in India.

Noise cancelling that knows you're on a plane
The feature most relevant to travellers is the new ANC system. OPPO pairs Low-Strain Noise-Cancelling Ear Tips with a triple-microphone setup, a 6nm NPU and new ANC algorithms. It claims up to 100% stronger overall noise cancellation than the previous generation, and up to 30% better cancellation of human voices, which are hard to block in busy public spaces.
In Adaptive Mode, OPPO says the earbuds recognise different scenes and adjust noise cancelling as the background changes. It specifically names improved recognition of metro trains, buses, taxis and airplanes. In practice, that should mean less switching between modes as you move from taxi to departure gate to cabin.
Flagship sound, co-tuned with Dynaudio
Each earbud has two drivers: an 11mm TRF diaphragm woofer for bass and a 6mm planar diaphragm tweeter for treble. Each driver gets its own DAC. OPPO has worked with Danish speaker maker Dynaudio for seven years, and the Enco X4 has five Dynaudio sound profiles for different genres.
The Enco X4 is OPPO's first pair of earbuds to support lossless audio, via LHDC Lossless at up to 24-bit/48kHz. The full lossless chain is reserved for OPPO's Find X10 Series phones, while Cross-Ecosystem Spatial Audio works on Android, iOS and Windows devices.
Translation, calls and Gemini
- Live translation. OPPO says AI Live Translation supports real-time translation and interpretation across more than 30 languages, aimed at international meetings and overseas travel. Check which languages and phones are supported in your market before you rely on it.
- Clearer calls. Three microphones and a bone-conduction voice pickup unit work together on AI Clear Call to keep your voice clear in noisy places.
- Hands-free help. These are OPPO's first earbuds with "Hey Google" voice activation for Google Gemini on compatible devices.
- Dual connection. Bluetooth 6.1 and Dual Connection Across Systems let you stay paired to, say, a phone and a laptop at once, across Android, iOS and Windows.
There's also a Neck Monitoring feature that nudges you about prolonged poor posture, handy after hours over a tray table.
Why it matters for travellers
- One pair for the whole journey. Adaptive ANC that recognises planes and trains suits multi-leg travel days.
- Battery for long-haul. Up to 13 hours from the earbuds alone covers most long flights, by OPPO's figures, and the case takes the total to 53 hours.
- Work calls on the move. Multi-mic call processing and cross-platform dual connection make it easier to take a call from a lounge or train.
- Sweat and rain. IP55 means dust and water resistance for everyday use. It isn't a rating for swimming.

Our verdict
The OPPO Enco X4 looks like a strong travel pair on paper. Adaptive ANC that recognises planes, Dynaudio-tuned dual drivers, live translation, IP55 and long battery life are all useful on the road. The lossless LHDC upgrade is reserved for OPPO's own Find X10 phones, while the travel features work across Android, iOS and Windows. We'll add it to our buying guides once it's widely available.
