A magnetic power bank is one of the simplest ways to keep an iPhone topped up on a travel day: snap it on and keep walking. The catch has always been heat. Wireless charging is less efficient than a cable, and a hot phone and battery pack slow charging down. Anker's new MagGo 2 Pro tackles that with a fan inside the power bank. Forbes reported the launch on 23 October 2026, and full specs are on Anker's official product page.

A fan inside a power bank

Diagram of how Anker SnapCool works: a fingertip-sized smart fan draws heat out, heat leaves through dual air channels, and a three-layer graphene spreader helps move heat away. Anker says this keeps the MagGo 2 Pro below 36°C (96.8°F) during 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging. Cool Mode runs the fan based on charging power and temperature; Silent Mode only runs it past a temperature threshold.

The big change is cooling. Anker says a "fingertip-sized" fan draws heat out through dual air channels, helped by a three-layer graphene spreader, to keep the pack below 36°C, or 96.8°F. Anker's UK page says that's 12°C below the international standard. There are two fan modes, according to Anker's support notes. In Cool Mode, the fan responds to both charging power and temperature. In Silent Mode, it only runs when the temperature passes a threshold.

Anker also says the power bank detects your phone brand and charging status and adjusts fan speed and the charging profile to match. Its ActiveShield 5.0 system runs over 10 million temperature checks a day. Anker reminds users to keep the fan on for effective cooling and not to block the air channels.

Charging speed claims

Anker says the MagGo 2 Pro charges an iPhone 17 Pro to 25% in 10 minutes and 50% in 25 minutes over 25W wireless. On its launch page it claims the MagGo 2 Pro charges to 50% up to 1.5x faster than the previous Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K), and says it's the world's first and only wireless power bank to receive the SGS Premium Performance Mark. These are Anker's own figures and testing claims.

The previous 10K model was limited to 15W wireless, 27W USB-C output and 20W recharging, according to Anker's comparison table. The new model is also lighter, at 7.7 oz versus 8.8 oz.

Why it matters for travellers

  • Charging while you use the phone. Navigating, filming and video calls all heat up a phone. Active cooling is aimed at keeping wireless charging fast in exactly those moments.
  • Fast top-ups in transit. Recharging to 80% in 52 minutes suits short airport layovers and hotel stops, if you carry a 45W-capable cable and charger.
  • One pack for phone and tablet. The 45W USB-C output can also charge a tablet or other USB-C devices.
  • A stand for flights and hotel desks. The built-in 0-80° stand turns it into a phone stand for watching downloads.

Flying with it? Power banks go in your hand luggage, and some airlines now restrict using them on board. Availability

Anker lists four colours (Phantom Gray, Burgundy Red, Polar Night Blue and Starlight Silver). At the time of writing, Anker's US store lists it as a pre-order shipping between 21 October and 9 November 2026. Availability varies by region, so check your local Anker store.

Our verdict

The Anker MagGo 2 Pro is a genuinely interesting step for magnetic power banks. Real 25W Qi2.2 charging, a fan-cooled design, 45W USB-C both ways and a smart display make it a premium travel pick for iPhone owners who charge on the go. It's built for iPhone: Anker says it isn't designed for Android phones.

FAQ

When did the Anker MagGo 2 Pro launch?

It was unveiled at IFA 2026, and Forbes reported its launch on 23 October 2026. Anker's US store currently lists pre-orders shipping from 21 October to 9 November 2026.

Does the MagGo 2 Pro work with Android phones?

Anker says it isn't for Android phones and lists compatibility with MagSafe-compatible iPhones from the iPhone 13 series onwards, except the iPhone 16e.

Is the fan noisy?

Anker offers a Silent Mode, where the fan only runs once the power bank passes a set temperature. Cool Mode runs the fan based on both power and temperature.

Can I take the MagGo 2 Pro on a plane?

A 10,000mAh power bank is usually allowed in cabin baggage, but never in checked luggage, and airline rules on using power banks on board vary. Check your airline before you fly.

What cable do I need for 45W recharging?

Anker says 45W recharging needs a cable that supports 45W or higher, sold separately, so check the rating of the cable you pack.
